Monetary Policy Economist (f/m/d)
You will be part of a research institute that wants to make the world a noticeably better place. As a Monetary Policy Economist (f/m/d, 32-39 hours per week) you will have the following tasks and responsibilities:
- You will conduct research , particularly on inflation, private and public investments, banks and financial markets, the intersection of monetary and climate policy, and other monetary policy issues. Through online research and discussions, you will identify the latest research, analyze the economic situation, and develop proposals for action. Under the guidance of our experts, you will help decide which projects we tackle and which proposals we develop.
- You develop robust, useful models or data sets to better understand individual industries, investment paths, inflation or other financial and economic phenomena. You will be supported and guided by our experts.
These analyses are a core part of your role with us. Our proposals are based on them. Since most of the topics we work on have a lot at stake, empirical, robust and comprehensible analyses are the be-all and end-all of our work. - You are willing to take ownership of your projects . You work independently and thoroughly, have an inherent interest in finance, macroeconomics and politics and are determined to get to the bottom of things, even if that requires an extra loop or two. The team supports you whenever necessary or helpful, and the initiative and responsibility are yours.
- You can and want to learn something new every day . Monetary and macro policy is difficult. No one has all the necessary skills or is a complete wiser (including us!). While we expect you to bring knowledge and opinions, what is more important is the ability to expand your knowledge and change your opinions. To achieve this, we challenge, encourage and train each other every day.
- You are willing to interact with representatives of central banks, governments, academia and the media, or develop into one. Our work only works if we engage in dialogue and work with these groups. As a Monetary Policy Economist, you will learn what makes these actors tick and how to take this into account in our work.
